This federal program works to improve the health of low-income seniors, age 60 or older, by supplementing their diets with nutritious USDA commodity foods.
The Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP), through a partnership with the Regional Food Bank and the Oklahoma Department of Human Services, provides commodity foods to low-income seniors. Once a month, qualified seniors receive a box with 16-20 commodity food items, such as pasta, canned meats, canned fruits and vegetables, cheese, milk, fruit juice, and cereal.
To participate, seniors must meet income requirements, be at least 60 years of age, and live in the service area where the partner agency distributes food. CSFP is available through the Stroud Food Pantry.
